The lasers

As per Joe's request, here is the info about the lasers.

We have been going back and forth with our local electric company about cutting trees down in our backyard.  Apparently, the government has helicopters fly over and shoot lasers down.  If their lasers hit trees at all, then those trees need to be eliminated for safety reasons.  If the trees are not eliminated, the electric company gets fined!  I guess the government gets to control how high vegetation grows now...

I thought that was up to mother nature and God, but apparently the government is superior to them.  Needless to say, we have A TON of firewood now!

Bloggertisements?

I know this is not a technical term by any means, but I'm not sure how I feel about "bloggertisements".  You all know what these are.  The little adds that pop up on the screen when you publish a post.  For example, yesterday I wrote about the newest book that I'm reading, Eat, Pray, Love.  I also touched on what the japa-mala beads are.  Guess what?  Today, there was a "bloggertisement" about Buddhism!!  This is kind of scary!!  I mean someone, or, more likely something, is analyzing my thoughts and ideas and sending me subliminal messages through my blog!  Don't we get enough advertisements through radio, billboards, TV?!? No, now our advertisements, or rather "bloggertisements" are being personalized to what they (whoever they may be) think that our interests are.  What's next?  Coffee being sent to our house because "something" saw us yawn!  I hope not, but you never know!  (By the way, if the powers that be read this, I AM NOT A BUDDHIST...just simply reading a book!)

Time...to read a new book

Time.  I waste a lot of it.  Today, for instance, I was woken up by a chainsaw (totally different post).  After that, I let my dog out, made a cup of coffee, and sat in front of my computer.  AHHH!!  I need to come up with something more productive to do with my life. I'm working on getting a job, but still have heard nothing about a third interview at B-town.  Pretty discouraging.

Anyway, I know there is a lot of things I could, no, should be doing, but instead here I sit typing away.  This summer, laziness has consumed me.

Last night, I started the book, Eat, Pray, Love, in anticipation of the upcoming Julia Roberts (my favorite!) movie.  I was a little skeptical at first because I wasn't sure how interesting a woman's venture for finding herself would be, but so far so good.  I am really enjoying it.  The way that she breaks up the stories is pretty fascinating.  They are written according to the number of  beads (108) on a Japa-mala (Buddhist prayer beads).

I want to start a blog!

I know, I know...I already have a blog, but that's not what I mean.  I mean a real blog with interesting content that people will want to follow.  Hmmmm....I can't seem to come up with a topic.  Something different.  Any ideas?

Oh yeah!

I almost forgot!  Honeymoon update!  Last year when I posted last, Hunter and I were going to go to Mexico for Thanksgiving.  Well, that didn't happen.  Instead, we ended up closing on our house that weekend.  Can you believe it?  After all we went through with the first honeymoon booking...we ended canceling the second one too.  Anyway, we went to Las Vegas in April over Easter.  It was a lot of fun, but still not the honeymoon we wanted.  Oh well, we'll get there one day....I hope!

I wanted to write more, but accidentally published, so here it goes....

Despite the unfruitful job hunt, there have been positive things happen this summer.  The best thing that happened is we added a new addition to our little family.  Griffin came into our lives on May 23, 2010. He came into our home on August 1.  Griffin is an adorable Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy!  He has been great!  He is crate trained and housebroken already.  He is such a fast learner!  He is so much fun!  Right now, Griffin is participating in puppy training classes at Petsmart! I'll definitely keep you updated on his growth because he is going to be quite a big boy! His father, for example, is 90 pounds!  Right now, Griffin only weighs about 15....he has quite a way to go!

We have also gained a niece this summer!  Isabella Saige was born on June 20 (father's day).  She is amazing!  She has also given Hunter and I some inspiration....stay tuned....

Wow! I'm bad at this...

You would think for how much a love to write, I would be better at keeping up with my blog! HA! Not so much....I REALLY want to try and keep this updated.  Although, my life doesn't seem so interesting right now...you never know what can happen.

It has been A YEAR since my last post!  Can you believe it?  Not that I have many followers...only 2 right now ;)  Who knows?  Maybe people will start to flock to the Knechtion because they hear how interesting my posts are (sarcasm intentional).    The last year has been quite a rollercoaster ride.  Last time I posted, I had just been hired at LMMS for a long term sub position.  That was amazing!  I loved every minute of it and it really helped solidify the fact that I am meant to teach <3  I had a great year, until...(da da dum) the woman I was in for returned!! Can you believe it?  I was supposed to be there an entire year and here she is, ready to come back!  UGH!  I was devastated...

The last few weeks there were hard.  I was so upset and didn't want to leave my students.  They threw me a surprise party on my last day and boy did I cry!  The day after I left LMMS, I received a call from a charter school.  They needed a 7th grade English teacher for the remainder of the year.  I was hired the next day and off I went to center city.  Oh my goodness!  Let me tell ya, that was quite an experience.  I was so used to my suburban kids that walking in my first day to the charter was like a slap in the face.  Literally.  I dredged my way through the rest of the year and was so happy for summer.

Oh! I almost forgot!  Hunter and I bought a house in November.  It's wonderful!  I absoutely love it, but the experience of buying the house is quite another thing...STRESSFUL!  I was so excited about buying a house and very optimistic, but the stress was almost too much to bare.  Thank goodness it's over and now all we have to worry about is paying our mortgage! Ha!

Okay, where did I leave off?  Oh yeah!  Summer...summer was welcomed with open arms.  I was happy to be home and enjoying our house.  I had so many great intentions for the summer.  Number one...our 4th of July bash.  It took a lot of planning, but overall we hosted a great party and I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed themselves.  Our home is on a big hill with a magnificent view of the valley.  We saw fireworks for miles...beautiful!  After the party, I was kind of bored.  Nothing more to plan.  I began to sell Premier Designs Jewelry for some extra money.  It's great!  I love the jewelry and doing the shows.  But, I really wanted to find a teaching position.  I looked, and continue to look, everyday for a positions.  I mailed out about 14 resume packets over the course of the summer.  I finally got a call from Boyertown SD last week and had a second interview this week.  Now...waiting for a call....we'll see; I'll keep ya posted!
