It's been a while...

Hello all! It's been quite a while since my last post! A LOT has happened since then. As you all know, Hunter and I got married on June 13, 2009. A week before the wedding, however, we had a little misfortune. Hunter overturned his ankle and broke it! Yes, he was on crutches for the wedding. Talk about being stressed out the week of your wedding! We went to see a surgeon on Monday, June 8, and sure enough, he needed surgery. We had to cancel our honeymoon to Jamaica, which we were already packed for, and schedule his surgery for the Tuesday after our wedding.

The wedding was FANTASTIC! I was skeptical all week. I didn't know how he was going to walk down the aisle, or into the reception, and dance? HA! Well...did he show me!! Hunter did an absolutely awesome job! Supported by the powers of adrenaline, he was able to do almost everything! I was blown away. We had a beautiful day despite the nasty, rainy morning. (and the car sickness from the limo ride)

We stayed an extra night at Bear Creek, which was amazing, to make up for our honeymoon. We did get all of our money back from the honeymoon and have recently book another trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico. We leave Thanksgiving Day!! We are VERY excited!

Hunter's surgery went well. He was in some pain the first couple of days, but after that, he was pretty good. He was on crutches for about 8 weeks after the surgery. (talk about a long summer) He was put in a soft cast for two weeks and then a hard cast for four. After the hard cast was removed, they had him in a walking boot, which was very uncomfortable. At 8 weeks, he had a second surgery to remove one of the pins from his ankle, which had him in a soft cast again for another week. Finally, when that one came off, the Dr. allowed him to put full weight on his leg once again. Hunter has been a real trooper about this whole thing. He was able to return back to work this past Monday and, although he was tired, was glad to be returning to work and a routine.

I spent the summer searching for a teaching position. I went on a few interviews, but nothing really came of them. Finally, I received a phone call about a position at Lower Macungie Middle School, where I was last year. It is a long term sub position for the year. After a long, grueling interview process, I got the job!! I had new teacher induction this past week and school starts for teachers on Tuesday, the 1st. I am very excited, but nervous at the same time. It is a floating position, which means I don't have my own classroom, but that's okay, I will get my own room in time.

Okay, well that's the update for now. I will try to post more regularly to keep this thing updated :)
